DARK TRANQUILLITY Explain Abbreviated San Diego Set
March 16, 2006Sweden's DARK TRANQUILLITY, who are currently touring North America with OPETH, THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND and DEVILDRIVER, have posted the following message on their official web site:
"[Monday's] show in San Diego turned out more than a little weird. Due to our bus breaking down on the way from San Francisco, we arrived to the venue extremely late, not knowing whether we'd be actually be allowed to play or not. Eventually it was decided that if the gear could be set up in record time, there would be room for us to play 3-4 songs.
"We regret that we couldn't deliver a show up to our usual standards, but during the circumstances we decided that it was better to play a short punk rock style set instead of cancelling altogether. We'll make up for it next time.
"Kudos to DEVILDRIVER for agreeing to playing early. Thanks guys!"
Remaining DARK TRANQUILLITY North American tour dates:
Mar. 17 - Cain’s Ballroom - Tulsa, OK
Mar. 18 - Juanita’s Cantina Ballroom - Little Rock, AR
Mar. 19 - House of Blues - New Orleans, LA
Mar. 21 - House of Blues - Lake Buena Vista, FL
DARK TRANQUILLITY's tour with OPETH is the group's second U.S. run in support of "Character", their highly acclaimed latest album that brought these originators of the famed Gothenburg scene back to the forefront of the genre. "Character", recorded once again at Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, ARCH ENEMY),has also been praised as their most groundbreaking yet as it retains all of the band's classic elements and thought-provoking lyrical content while blending the perfect amount of unrelenting aggression and melody.
